Here are some more pictures of the horses, hanging out in the pasture on a cold Spring day. Average temperature is in the 50's this time of year, but it's a cold 36 today. It doesn't matter how often we clean the mud off - they go roll in it the first chance they get.

Video of Lucky
Here's a video of Lucky, taken about 10 hours after he was born! The video shows him walking around in the round pen. We kept him and the mare in the round pen today as it has solid footing. The rest of the farm is a muddy mess.
Lucky has arrived!
This morning around 6am, Red Bricks Lucky Star was born! This is our first foal born on the farm. Lucky is a colt (a boy) and has all of the normal POA characteristics. Bambi is VERY protective of him right now, but he is curious about everything. We had sunny skies and temperatures near 60 today, so it was a perfect day to start a life.

Bambi's foal is almost here
Without giving away too many gory details, Bambi, our Appaloosa mare, is about to have her first foal here on Red Brick Farm. She's bred to Joe Cobb, an awesome leopard POA stallion from Our Gang's POA Farm in Lyons, IN. Given the number of days in her pregnancy, the phase of the moon, and the coming cold front, we expect her to foal any day this week!
